Step 1: Custom Cutting Board Design

Begin by uploading a design into xTool Creative Space (XCS), it's super easy to upload a photo, silhouette image or text and the software will be able to engrave it.

If you aren't sure of settings, test it on a piece of cardboard to start.

Size it to the desired size and line it up on the cutting board.

If you have the xTool S1, you know how to select the area and place the design on that spot.

Step 2: Engrave the Cutting Board

I used the xTool recommended settings for cutting boards and it worked perfectly.

After engraving there is some char on the board.

Step 3: Clean the Cutting Board

Now use a damp cloth or baby wipe to remove as much char as you can.

Then just take it to the sink and give it a scrub with some hot soapy water.

I used a nail brush and it cleaned the board off beautifully.

NATURAL WOOD ENGRAVING TIPS:

Remember that wood is natural and the engraving will vary in tones based on the wood composition.
The wood will char around the edges, just clean them with a baby wipe.
Treat the cutting board with a little olive oil after engraving.

This cutting board is absolutely stunning!

Just about 5 minutes of engraving and I have a high quality gift ready to go!
