Easy Finger Puppet Gloves!

Easy Finger Puppet Gloves! We made family finger puppets!  Firstly, we love to make handmade gifts for Christmas. This past year we drew names and made one thing for the person we got. My little 7 year old was unsatisfied that all he had to do was make me something... and he wanted to make his older brother and sister something too. He had a great idea. Glove puppets of the family! I told him to sit down and draw a picture of what he wanted everyone to look like.  It was pretty cute!  We took a pair of knit gloves. The pair worked great because the brother is left handed and the sister is right handed!  We used felt and cut circles for faces...I only had ivory felt for our skin tone... but it's pretty true to color during the winter!  Then we added colorful hair and wiggly eyes. I hot glued everything in place...  Then my son picked where he wanted each person to be... and we hot glued them on each finger.  T...

Snowman in Summer Fillable Ornament!

Snowman in Summer Fillable Ornament!  Make a fabulous melted snowman in a clear fillable ornament! Supplies: Epsom salt Orange felt carrot nose Snowman in Summer vinyl Black dots...could use peppercorn...but I didn't have any, so I cut the black things out of googly eyes!  I used a funnel and poured in some epsom salt. You don't want to make it too heavy...so just about 1/8 cup or so.  Then add in your little snowman face. You could add a few small buttons too!  Don't shake it up so the face pieces stay on top!  Apply the vinyl... (in hindsight, I'd probably do this before filling...haha)  Tie a ribbon on it!  And hang it on the tree to remind you of warmer days! This post published on Doodlecraft first

Halloween Tie Dye Party!

I've had lots of requests for the Halloween Tie Dye patterns! Start by reading through this Tie Dye basics post I did in July...  You will need:  Tulip One Step Dye bottles White 100% cotton T-shirts Plastic bags on table surface Rubber bands/zip ties Cooling rack to prevent puddling Bags for wrapping shirts for 6-8 hours Let's get started with the simplest. The All-Seeing Eye! Use a washable marker to draw the eye shape on a folded in half shirt. The arch, iris and pupil. Now start with the smallest pupil line. and gather it up so the marker lines up in a straight line... while curving or manipulating the rest of the shirt. Then tie it off tight with a rubber band. Repeat for all the marker lines drawn on the shirt. Use zip ties or rubber bands to secure... Place on a cooling rack on top of your plastic table. This will prevent dye colors from puddling and muddying colors. Add black to the center for the pupil...followed by the i...
