DIY: Fairy Garden House and Miniatures!

DIY: Fairy Garden House and Miniatures! This fairy garden was so fun to make! I received the special paint from Plaid Crafts. You will need: Paint, rocks, Big pot, plants, fun fairy pieces and a bird or fairy house. There are  surfaces to paint and the perfect little bird houses at Plaid Crafts. I made my own with scrap wood. I love how it's smaller at the bottom than the top. I left the house open so that things could be added to it, like a hammock upstairs and a table and chairs downstairs. You'll want this fantastic paint too-- Painted Finishes! I used the concrete finish and the moss finish. I love how it looks like it was made with concrete...it's textured too! Then I added the moss to the edges. There's a light green and a bright green...they look so perfect together. I love the 2 step painting technique! I made a little arched door out of polymer clay. It doesn't open, just glued to the side to look cute. We got...

Teacup Fairy Garden!

Teacup Fairy Garden! A tiny teacup fairy garden, because they are just so cute. This is a quick and easy craft for kids, tweens, teens and adults!  I received this adorable package of fairy garden fun in exchange for this tutorial! It comes with 55 pieces. They are all different size ratios, so the bunny is larger than the bench, etc. But they are cute and this is a great craft for kids I snipped some basil in the yard to give it some greenery. I also picked up some moss covered "rocks" at the dollar stored but didn't end up using them. Succulents and cactus would be cute as well. Fill a tea cup 3/4 full of small rocks...and a handful of potting soil on top. Then fill with all the cute fairy accessories until you are satisfied! Because teacups are small, they fill up fast! This is great because you can make Teacup Fairy Garden's with friends, at a birthday party or other activity! Not just for girls either...there is a cute little...

Painted Mushroom Fairy Garden!

Painted Mushroom Fairy Garden!  Fairy Gardens are so cute and fun!  I thought a little  mushroom house would be the perfect touch for a  fairy garden--or little gnome village!  I started with this old, faded mushroom. It was in the front yard of this house when we bought it.  This is a real Fly Amanita. It's the most iconic mushroom ever.  I guess it is hallucinogenic and psychedelic. It's said that it makes things appear either bigger or larger than they are. Fun thought since Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass movie is coming out next week! It's totally the Caterpillars' mushroom! I used Plaid Apple Barrel paints and painted it white and the cap red. Let it dry and then painted white spots on the top.  Then I used Nutmeg brown paint to paint on the front door.  With some details in Melted chocolate and black.  Then I used this fabulous Liquid Leaf in Classic Gold to paint some fun det...
