 Harry Potter Cosplay: Draco Malfoy Unfortunately my son wasn't feeling well, but I made him Draco Malfoy anyway. He has ultra light hair, so that made it easy...although we just cut it, so it didn't slick back that well.  Anyway, for a last minute Halloween costume, it's great! The way to seal the deal is the Slytherin tie! We went to the thrift store and bought a silver tie. then I used frog tape and a green sharpie marker and colored the stripes right on it!  Perfecto Patronum!  :) Come back tomorrow for more Harry Potter fun!   This post published on Doodlecraft first

Dalek Nightlight! Illuminate!

  Do you ever do a project that blows your own mind? I am totally impressed with myself about this genius project! The Dalek Nightlight!Illuminate! (admit it...you said that in your head in a Dalek voice!) Here's the simple diy. I picked up this Avengers nightlight from the Dollar Tree!  I printed off my favorite cartoonized picture of a Dalek. I used it here for a giant cut-out too! You'll also need a sheet of Shrink plastic and sharpie markers.  Lay the shrink plastic on top of the printout.  Tape in place.  And trace the entire Dalek in black!  Then fill in and color with silver or gold sharpie  Until satisfied.  Then cut out that little Dalek leaving about 1/8" or  so of a border around the outline.  Okay, then melt the plastic in the oven. (sadly there are no pictures of this process...you place colored size up on a baking sheet.  Place in preheated 350* oven...and watch the plastic curl u...

Upcycled Knob Hanging Coat Rack or Jewelry Organizer!

 I took those colored knobs from yesterday and turned them into a hanging organizer for my daughter. She hangs stuff all over the posts of the bed, and I thought this would help!  I found a strip of wood and painted it white on one side. Took the drill and drilled out 6 holes for my screws.  Got some regular cabinet machine screws and shoved them through the holes...  Then twisted on the knobs!  I added a hanging wire on the backside...  And Ta-da!  Now, here's the hanging secret of the century: A magnet. We pulled this magnet out of an old hard drive I think... Anyways, it's super strong and a couple inches long. We just lightly skim it over the walls and it will stick tight onto any nail that's in the wall! Makes finding studs easy!  :)  Once mounted securely into a stud...  Anything (within reason) can hang on this thing! Jewelry, coats, swimsuits, backpacks...you name it! Linking up ...
