Red Ribbon Bowties! Easy DIY!

Red Ribbon Bowties!  Easy DIY! This is a fun and simple way to make bowties. This would be great for little matching choir ties, Christmas ties for the bows and a hair bow for the girls, Great for a Doctor Who themed party or just a fun addition to the Christmas tree or garland!   I used Offray Ribbon. They sent me this in exchange for this post. You will need satin ribbon in red (or whatever color you desire) Each tie will need 10 inches of 2 inch wide and 1.5 inch of .5 inch ribbon.  I measured and cut a bunch of 2 inch ribbon into 10 inch lengths.  You will also need hot glue and gun.  And pin backs or clips.  Take one 2 inch strip and make a zig zag of glue in the center of the ribbon.  Fold the edges into the center and press gently into the glue.  While the glue is still warm, gather the center line with your fingers.  Then place a dot of glue on the center gather and place the 1/2 inch ribbon on th...

Elsa Princess Inspired Hairbow!

Elsa Princess Inspired Hairbow! Okay, realtime. I do not like the movie Frozen. I was so excited, I wanted to love it!  I love the Snow Queen idea and they could have done so many wonderful things with this story! but...it was a poorly scripted/written money maker film. Teaching poor values and disregard for right and wrong. It's perfect for marketing because there are 2 blonde princesses in one show! Twice the merch, twice the money! So, despite not liking the show...I still like the Snow Queen idea. And I love Blue and white and snowflakes! My birthday is in January, so that is about all it's good for...which is probably why I like the Snow Queen idea so much. So I made an Elsa inspired hairbow! I used satin ribbon from Papermart They don't compensate me, but they have great quality ribbon. I used 36 inches of these sizes/colors 1.5 inch white, 1 inch Aegean blue, 7/8 inch light blue I used birdcage veil netting and a snowflake rhinestone butto...

Rapunzel Princess Inspired Hairbow!

Rapunzel  Princess Inspired Hairbow!  I absolutely love Rapunzel! Tangled is one of my favorite Disney movies.  We were so excited to meet her at Disney world in 2013. She was so cute and animated!  My daughter just turned 12. She is very girly but is growing up. So we made a bunch of shabby chic hairbows  that are "Princess Inspired" These are perfect for her!  I love satin ribbon.  I use a lot of it, so I ordered a ton of colors and sizes from Papermart . They don't compensate me at all...but I thought I'd share the best prices on ribbon. I used 1 yard each of 3 sizes: 1.5 inch in orchid, 1 inch in light pink and 7/8 inch in orchid.  You will also need: Heavy thread Lighter Scissors   As well as other embellishments. My favorite are marabou boa puffs and plastic rhinestone buttons...available at any craft store. You will also need 2 one inch pieces of 1/4" elastic and a felt circle.  To make...
