Mason Jar Pincushions! #tbt

  Since I have been blogging now for almost 4 years... I thought it would be fun to revisit some old posts. So, this year...on Thursdays, I'll post a throwback! Maybe I'll have an update, some new pictures or change up somehow! I think it will be fun! So, today: Mason Jar Pincushions! Totally updated!  You will need: Ball Mason Jars...1/2 pint size Elite collection...wide mouth! They are so cute because they are so squatty! Best place I found to buy them was TARGET. Okay, any mason jar will work! And it's just changing up the lid...so you could mix it up later!  You will also need: cork, scissors, hot glue gun, jars, cotton stuffing, black paper and cute fabric  Cut a piece of cork to fit inside the top of the sealing lid. The cork is the real VIP of this project.  It will give your pins something to grip into and  hold them in place.  Just cotton will not make a great pincushion.  Hot glue it in place. (dis...

Metal Ribbon Cork Board Frame!

 I found METAL Ribbon at Hobby Lobby! It's cute and fun...and it will rust if you let it. I have a bunch of ideas for it, but I started with a cork memo board! I used an old wood frame. It was perfect because it was flat and boring. I painted on a few coats of teal! Now time for the metal ribbon. I just wanted a strip of it all around the frame. I initially thought I would tack them in place with thumbtacks...but that didn't work. So I used my staple gun.  Easy...and actually matches better! I tacked it down on one corner Then used wire cutters to snip the other end where it lined up. Then stapled it in place a few times. The staples blend in so well that they aren't noticeable. I did overlapping corners like this, rather than doing a 45* angle. Easy and symmetrical!  The frame would look darling just like that...or with a picture and glass inside... but I decided to use cork board...  Then spray glued and wrapped with cute polka dot ...
