Gold and Silver Metallic Leather Feather Earrings!

Gold and Silver Metallic Leather Feather Earrings!  I cut 2 long tear shaped pieces of tan scrap leather. You can get big bags of scrap leather at craft stores. You'll also need 2 earring backs and jump rings.  Poke a hole in the leather and hook the jump rings to  the earring backs and through the leather.  Awesome!  Now I just used gold and silver metallic paint and a small paint brush.  Just paint a few lines here and there, mimicking the look of a feather.  Let them dry completely Then take some sharp scissors or hobby knife and cut some slits here and there. Careful not to cut the feather in half.  Perfect feathery dangles! Check out these Chevron Leather Earrings too! This post published on Doodlecraft first

Button Ornament Christmas Cards!

Button Ornament Christmas Cards! Super simple cards with the perfect festive touch! You'll need white cardstock, buttons, marker or pen, silver leaf pen, and glue dots!  A standard (A2) card is 5.5 by 4.25 inches. It's half a sheet of paper folded in half!  Easy. Then use a ruler or straight edge and draw some random lines on it.  Add little decorative bails/hangers to the ends and color them with a silver leaf pen.  Then glue dot on the buttons!  Add a little phrase with some fake calligraphy ...and you're good! Shaped Expressions sent it to me in exchange for this review. They even included a thank you card!  I decided to go with a frosty, frozen, shimmery, icy, silver bells, white Christmas, blue and aqua's scheme. (my favorite Christmas decor is silver and blue ) I removed the back boards and laid the frame out on some boxes...  And spray painted it shimmering silver!  While the frame was drying, I took the back board, some cork and some linen...  I cut the cork to be just about a quarter inch smaller than the back board. Then I hot glued it right on top!  Covered it with a square of linen and hot glued that on top as well.  After the frame dried, I placed the backing back in the frame and secured them with the tabs.  Then it just took ...
