Kitchen Reveal!!!

Kitchen Reveal!!! This is my favorite part of the house! This project also took the longest. When we walked through the house the first time I knew there was so much work to be done.  First off, I was not going to be confined in the kitchen/prison while everyone else had  loads of fun in the living room. Next, those cabinets...such a waste of space above them...they were ugly and painted dozens of times. I could have painted them again, but they still would look ugly. The oven was where the fridge should be...and the fridge was jammed in the corner so the freezer door couldn't even open all the way. I could not live like that.  So, first order of business was to remove this wall!  And quickly rip off all the cabinet doors. I have always loved the open shelf look. Always. I loved it before it was cool. I have a thing with slightly ajar doors...I know.  So, we enlisted some help from Mike's dad and uncle and they cut the wall op...

Craft Room Reveal!

Craft Room Reveal! We have one "bedroom" on the main floor but decided to turn it into the craft room with all the bedrooms downstairs. Here's the room before. We took out the carpet and covered with laminate, just like the living room floor.  We had to remove the chair rail molding so the shelves I had would fit snug against the wall. but I did not want to paint the entire room, since most of it would just be covered up again. So I puttied the wall and taped off a 12" stripe with painters tape.  And then painted the stripe a darker gray.  All around the room.  We got this cute desk and cut it down to fit this wall for the sewing machines.  All the shelves packed full of crafting supplies!  And the wall filled with fun gallery wall type things!  The perfect room for creative inspiration!  And most of the time it's a mess anyway!  But I love it! What's your favorite part? My kids love the Ninten...
