DIY Medicated Lip Balm!

Just a few ingredients make a bunch of medicated lip balm... You'll need: (please note, I doubled this recipe and made 25 sticks and 25 pots of lip balm and more to spare...) 3 oz. Coconut oil 4 oz. Cocoa Butter 2 oz. Beeswax (yellow or white) 3 drops glycerin or vitamin E oil 20 drops of each Essential oil Put the ingredients (except the essential oils) into a glass pitcher.  Put the pitcher in a pot of water and bring to a low boil.  Until the contents melt completely.  While it's melting, get your chapstick tubes or pots ready to be filled. I transferred half of my mixture into a smaller  measuring cup and added my oils. The first batch I used: Peppermint and Frankincense  Pour into pots and sticks and let cool.  Happens really quick! I put the extra in a muffin mold...I can melt it down later when I am ready to make more. My next batch I used Peppermint, Slim and Sassy and some off brand wintergreen oil. I loaded...

Homemade Cleansing Baby Wipes

So easy, so soft! Making these yourself will save tons of money! You'll need: Good quality paper towels serrated bread knife plastic air tight container to fit 1/2 to 1/3 of a paper towel roll 2 cups warm water 1 tsp coconut oil and DoTerra Essential oils: 6 drops of melaluca, 6 on guard Start by cutting the roll of paper towels with the bread knife. It's a little messy, no big deal.    Put 1/3 of your cut towels in your airtight container...  Mix the coconut oil and the essential oils in your warm water.    Pour the water mixture over the paper towels.  The towels will absorb the water...   and you'll be able to easily pull the cardboard tube out of the center. Seal the container and turn it upside down for about 10 minutes. Pull the paper towels out the center, with the perforations making the perfect size wipes! Great for baby bottoms, hands, faces or messes!  :)

Homemade Lavender Bath Salt

Lavender is great for relaxing and calming. True story, I was babysitting...a baby that did not want to be babysat. After the little sweetie cried in my arms for nearly 20 minutes, I put a drop of lavender oil on the bottoms of her feet...instantly, she melted in my arms and cuddled with me. Man!  I wish I had known that trick with my own babies! Okay, so let's make some spa-rific lavender bath salts...so you can relax! You'll need: Mixing bowl 2 cups Epsom salt 20 drops of lavender essential oil Pour in the salt...  Add the oil right on top of the salt!  Stir it up! We added a tablespoon of lavender blossoms too...just for the look!  We split up some into 4 inch baggies... all secrets will be revealed at the end of the week!  And keep the rest in this mason jar!  Just add a tablespoon to your next bath! (or your kids bath right at bedtime!)

Star Wars Han Solo and Princess Leia love!

Happy 12th Anniversary to me and my hubby! In honor of our special day...   Is there anything more geeky and romantic? I think not.  I used my silhouette to cut out contact  shelf lining paper...it's cheap, but so hard to see! But it's so cheap!  I buy this at the dollar store. My silhouette settings are: Blade set to 5, cut depth on the software set to 1. Cut speed at 3...better to go slow. Carefully applied to wood with transfer  tape for the perfect stencil! I did dry/bare wood and black paint...    and I wasn't too thrilled about the major bleeding problem...     So I used the contact paper to recover Han and Leia...  and then painted all the rest of the wood white! Much better, crisper lines!  The perfect silhouettes! Then I re-did the captions in contact paper  and painted those on... In a true Star Wars Geek Love fashion...  And since I know YOU...
