Gold Horse Head!

Gold Horse Head! I found this adorable and strange horse head at the thrift store... and so I got it!  Here's where I fantasize about being King Midas. Man, turning everything into gold would be awesome. Let's do it!  It has a hook on the back, and some staples... but it's plaster and was made in 1951. I know, and I painted it.   I used shiny gold metallic spray paint and gave it a couple mists.  Add a ribbon and hang it on a wreath...for now, until it goes on my gallery wall!  I love it!  I sure like gold spray paint these days! Check out all these other crafts and easy upgrades with a little spray paint!!! This post published on Doodlecraft first

Egyptian King Mummy Costume!

Mummy Costume! Simple DIY kid Halloween costumes are my favorite! My son wants to be a mummy! Perfect for us...we have tons of wrappings... but I thought more of an Egyptian King Mummy...so we need a headdress!  I got a King Cobra at the dollar store.  And cut his head off. I used gold rub 'n buff and coated it in gold.  I made a headband with some strips of leather and some elastic. Then I punched holes through the leather and sewed the snake to the center!  It's thick waxed string, so it will hold tight!  Then I added Rub 'n Buff to the entire leather headband.  And let it dry completely.  Then we used E6000 to gl...

Doctor WHO week! Clara Hair Chain Tiara from Robots of Sherwood!

Clara Hair Chain Tiara from Robots of Sherwood!  Don't you love Clara? I especially love her costuming...she always looks amazing! I knew I had to recreate this head chain!  Perfect piece for cosplay!  Yes, even Clara is giddy about it!   First you will need: Polly Plastics Moldable Plastic Pellets *I received these free in exchange for this review* This is revolutionary! It's amazing! It melts in hot water and then it's totally pliable and easy to form into anything! So I heated up a cup of water in the microwave and then dumped about 3 spoonfuls of pellets into the water. They quickly turn clear. I used a tiny spoon to stick them together and pick it out of the water. Now you can touch it and mold it however you like! It's not hot! I made a 1.5 inch watermelon slice shape! I rolled little balls and then used a lighter to heat up the area so I could stick them in place. Then I rolled a long snake... Heated up th...
