Steampunk Teen Mermaid Costume!

Steampunk Teen Mermaid Costume! When it comes to Halloween costumes, I like them modest. Apart from having high moral standards, and that it's cold out on Halloween... it's also a holiday where the CRAZIES come out! We take dressing up very seriously at our house! We source ideas and pieces year round and get a game plan in August! There are usually several events that require dressing up  and it is fun to mix it up for each of them! Super simple Mermaid inspired costume with a touch of steampunk! This costume is great for a church party. Key points: no mask (lots of churches have a no mask policy) comfort and ease of movement. (big, bulky costumes are fitting for some occasions, but if you are having an active party with lots of games, movement is essential.) cute. essential for a tween or teen girl, right!? These scale leggings are so much fun. They are great for daily wear too!  For make-up, I cut a scale stencil out of cardstock with m...

Harry Potter Cosplay: Draco Malfoy

Harry Potter Cosplay: Draco Malfoy Unfortunately my son wasn't feeling well, but I made him Draco Malfoy anyway. He has ultra light hair, so that made it easy...although we just cut it, so it didn't slick back that well.  Anyway, for a last minute Halloween costume, it's great! The way to seal the deal is the Slytherin tie! We went to the thrift store and bought a silver tie. then I used frog tape and a green sharpie marker and colored the stripes right on it!  Perfecto Patronum!  :) Come back tomorrow for more Harry Potter fun!   This post published on Doodlecraft first

Harry Potter Cosplay: Professor Sibill Trelawney

Harry Potter Cosplay: Professor Sibill Trelawney Trelawney is definitely one of the favorite background characters of Harry Potter for sure! My sister in law did the perfect costume!  Wild fluffy hair with head scarfs, big bug eyed glasses, lots of necklaces and busy boho patterns!  The key here was the glasses for sure!  They are super cheap but add the perfect touch! We even had extra to pass out as favors to the kids! She was fun and went around in full divination speech! Phrases like "my boy!" and "the Grim!" were commonplace!   This post published on Doodlecraft first

Harry Potter Cosplay: Bellatrix LeStrange

Harry Potter Cosplay: Bellatrix LeStrange She is creepy and scary!  So with minimal effort, I decided to dress up like her! Basically all I did was curl my hair, put some in my face...  and wear black. I got these cool arm nets too...which help seal the deal! Colored hair spray would be good too...black all over and a spritz of white at the part. Making the curls nappier would help too.  But really, all you have to do is act psychotic and run around singing "I killed Sirius Black--hahaha!" and everyone will figure out who you are! Come back again for more fun Harry Potter Cosplay!   This post published on Doodlecraft first
