Let's talk about xTool first:

I've got a lot of posts about xTool laser cutting machines:

xTool Machines:

CO2 Laser xTool P2 Machine

xTool F1 Portable Laser Cutter

xTool S1 20W or 40W ( I have the 20W--see this post)

xTool M1 10W Deluxe RA2 Pro (this is the one I have--see this post)

I recommend getting bundles, some come with a materials package which helps you get started right away.

My bundle included the honeycomb panel and the xTool RA (world's first 4-in-1 rotary engraving xTool s 1 rotary attachment for doing round things like tumblers or baseballs) as well as the nm IR laser module (infrared laser 2W) for engraving metal. (which I haven't used yet)

Some limited time deals are the best time to snag a laser cutter...so keep watch as they do go on sale pretty regularly.

Additional extras can be purchased to make the laser more usable in your home.

If you can't vent your machine through a window, I recommend the xTool desktop smoke purifier.

The fire safety set is helpful as well, but not necessary. The xTool S1 comes with built in fire detection.

There is also a riser base and automatic conveyor feeder for the xTool S1 that you can add to your machine at any time if you are ready to do larger than mat projects.

Check the xTool website as they are always getting new arrivals of materials, videos/tips and even a library of free projects.

Free Shipping is all part of the package when you buy a xTool Laser Engraving Machine (laser cutter).

**NOTE: If you are hoping to cut clear acrylic with a laser cutter you HAVE to purchase a CO2 laser cutter, like the xTool P2. A blue diode laser will just NEVER be able to cut clear acrylic...but it does do a great job with a lot of other colors of acrylic.

Step 1: Laser Cutter

Import the wrap around bracelet file into XCS (xTool Creative Space) software and don't adjust the size or the slots and holes will not fit.

Place your leather in the machine and secure it on the edges with the magnetic clamps.

Then measure the workable surface of the leather on the software and center the bracelet file on the visible work area.

You can also add intricate designs to the bracelet file for the machine to engrave!

Then the settings:

It's always recommended to do a test grid to get the settings right, I typically test on cardboard and then use my actual material.

I set the power to 85, speed to 16 and the passes to just 1.

This was plenty of speed and power to cut through my leather with a gorgeous precise cut easily.

Again, test out a small corner to make sure you don't over do it on power or under do-it.  Is that a word?

**NOTE: Laser cutting leather has a very distinctive smell. I like it. It smells like burning hair. Still, make sure that air assist is on and prepare yourself for the smell. Really, it does not bother me at all, but I love the smell of the laser cutting basswood and plenty of people complain about that too.😂

Step 2: Screw-In Stud Rivet

Seriously, cutting out the leather bracelet took less than 3 minutes, this is such a FAST project!

Now the bracelet leather is ready to add hardware to it. These stud rivets are also know as a Sam Browne, but they typically need to be set in with a hammer.

This takes less than a minute--so the whole craft can be completed in less than 5 minutes!

This makes a great last minute gift!

Laser cut leather wrist band ready to screw in the stud rivet, Sam Browne hardware.

Simply put the base of the rivet from the backside of the leather through the smallest hole.

This pattern was sized perfectly by my amazing husband and it works like a charm!

I love the screw in rivets, because no fancy hammers are needed to set it.

If you are concerned about it loosening over time, add a little drop of super glue on it while screwing it on.

Screw-In Stud Rivet

Then screw on the stud to the top of base.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! Really, it's so easy.

I love this pack of stud rivets because it comes with 4 different shades of metallic so you can pick your favorite.

I, of course, went with the bright gold.

Step 3: Wrap and Secure Bracelet

Now the bracelet is finished!

You can engrave designs on it, leave it as-is or even paint it with leather paint.

I am such an "ol' natural" girl, I leave everything as-is.

I love it.

The bracelet should wrap around the wrist, the end tucks in the first opening slit and out the second opening slit, then secures over the stud in one of three positions.

We have found that it is the perfect sizing for most people, make your own adjustments as needed.

I love adding a personal touch to any gift giving reason!

My husband made a bunch of wrap bracelets this style to put the Hebrew Shema on them. They are a reminder bound on the wrist to Honor God and keep his commandments--the perfect gift for his Hebrew friends.

You'll notice that if you are planning on adding decoration, the score option worked great and it will only mainly show on the skinnier strap that wraps around the bracelet.
