How to Make a Cape!

Capes are the perfect finishing touch to so many great costumes!

I am sharing six awesome cape tutorials for copslay, Halloween or any other costume!

If you have a great cape or robe on hand, you always have a costume at the ready.

It's easy to through something fabulous together for all kinds of costumes with a great cape or robe.

I've done robes with sleeves and hoods.

I've made more than 50 robes like this. 

One year for Christmas I made robes for all my family, brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews!

These are great for Jedi, Sith, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Renaissance or Medieval times. 

They also work great for a classy Bible character or Christmas story Nativity reenactment...even for the Snow Queen, Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus!

I've seriously made countless numbers of capes.

Some with hoods, some without.

No sleeves, they just tie or clasp at the neck.

I think capes and robes are the perfect costume pieces.

They just work for so many things, they are worth making and keeping forever for perfect last minute costumes.

This is the perfect gathered cape, easy to make with just a couple straight seams! 

Even if you are not a confident seamstress, this cape is really easy to sew. 

It's a great beginner sewing project!

In conclusion, capes are my favorite addition to any costume.

I am not like Edna Mode in Incredibles who insists, "no capes!"

I love a great cloak, cape or robe.

They are perfect for every occasion!
