Monte Cristo Waffles Recipe with Hamilton Beach

Monte Cristo Waffles are delightful!  This is the perfect brunch for an Easter Sunday.  It's much more filling than carb loaded waffles, as it has savory protein baked right in it.  Monte Cristo waffles are easy to make and will get you a standing ovation at breakfast!
I had the pleasure of eating a Monte Cristo at Disneyland when I went on a Girl's trip with my sister-in-law.  It was really yummy!
So I knew that making my own version at home is the best solution.  This waffle version tastes amazing and is less sticky and messy than syrup covered waffles.
I received this Hamilton Beach Belgian Waffle Maker:

I has a flip function to turn the waffles when they are cooking.
It has removable trays for easy cleaning.

You will need:

Waffle Mix
Grated Havarti Cheese
Cut up Honey Ham Slices
Raspberry Jam
Powdered Sugar
Mix up the waffle mix according to the package directions.
Pour out 1/4 cup of waffle mix on the hot waffle iron.
Sprinkle with pieces of ham.
Then add 1/8 cup of shredded cheese.
Then pour out 1/4 cup more waffle mix on top of the cheese.
Let the mixture sit open until some bubbles form.
Then close the waffle iron lid and rotate the handle to turn it upside down.  The waffle iron will light up when it's ready to remove the waffle.  Remove and repeat!
Spread raspberry jam on top of the waffle and dust with powdered sugar.  Serve warm.
It's rich and crispy.  The cheese is melted and warm.  The fillings are sweet and savory.  This is an amazing brunch for Easter Sunday.

Such a fun way to enjoy great flavors all in one dish!
I used to love getting a Monte Cristo from Disneyland. Now I can have all the flavor without the deep fried part!
