Homemade donuts are delish--actually, these are basically cupcakes.  They are easy to make in a cupcake pan and aren't fried in oil...but everyone is just as thrilled with them!  They are fun to decorate and we did rainbows three ways!  These rainbow inspired donuts are perfect for a St. Patrick's day treat!

You will need:
Donut pan

Cake mix
Cream cheese frosting
toppings: sprinkles, candy and fruit

Mix up the cake mix and pour in donut pan about half way.  Bake in 350* oven for 20 minutes.
Let cool and decorate!

#1: Colorful Fruit

Chop up a bunch of brightly colored fruit...it's so good with the cream cheese frosting.  They are colorful and sweet and much healthier than just candy.
Add some frosting to the tops of the donuts.
Fill with fruit.

It's so fun for the kids to decorate and enjoy!

#2: Rainbow Surprise!

Place donut on a plate and fill the hole with mini candies!
Don't lift off the plate and cover with a layer of cream cheese frosting, covering the hole and candies completely.
It looks kind of like a cookie!
Add some sprinkles and enjoy!
Once it's open, surprise!  Filled with a rainbow of fun candy!

#3: Candy Rainbow!

For the last rainbow donut, it's a simple rainbow made of candies!  Just frost with cream cheese frosting, then add rows of colors.  Add some gold sprinkles for the "gold" at the end of the rainbow look!

Perfect way to celebrate any day of the week with rainbow donuts--3 ways!
