FAKE FLOWER BENEFITS:

I'm absolutely allergic to real flowers, it's sad but true.

I think that's the fuel for all my fake hand-made blossoms and flower crafts...paper flowers, book page flowers, and these beautiful flowers made of felt.

The best part about your own felt flowers is they never wilt, brown, crumble and die, and they have that human touch.

These will look bright and vibrant forever, I'll show you how to make 3 different flowers with full flower tutorials in the video too!

ROLLED SPIRAL FLOWER:

Step 1: Cut the Felt

The first step is to cut the felt into a circle ish shape.

The circle does not have to be perfect, in fact, I think the flower shapes look better when they are not perfect.

You can trace a felt circle shape and cut it out exactly, but there really is no need.

Just cut out a circle from the felt.

Now cut into the circle and cut a spiral.

Again you do not need to draw a pattern, just go slow and try to keep the scissors edge about 1 inch away from the outside edge as you go.

Trim the part of the circle right where you begin to cut into the felt, since there is likely a peak on the edge.

Lots of words to explain how to just simply cut a piece of felt into a circle with a spiral.

There's option to add some scallops or petal shapes along the top edge of the spiral, but I like the straight lines.

Step 2: Hot Glue and Roll

Now add a dot of glue to the small point of the spiral outer edge.

Keep it loose, not rolling too tight.

Use the hot glue gun to add a dot of glue here and there, there's no reason to hot glue the entire roll.

When you near the end of the roll, hot glue it on the edge one last time, but leave the circle of felt remaining.

And press it down on the felt circle, down on the silicone mat and press firmly until dry.

This is why adding a full line of glue isn't necessary while rolling it because it will be secured to the back piece of felt.

Tada!

That is all that it takes to make a rolled felt flower.

I love the uneven edges, they make the flower look soft and more natural.

Experiment with different sizes of flowers.

You can also begin your flower with a felt ball and roll the rest of the felt spiral around the felt ball for an alternative!

ROLLED LOOPY FLOWER:

Step 1: Cut the Felt

Begin with a piece of felt, if it's 10 inches long, that's probably enough. I needed to make mine a little longer.
