After they start to feel more firm, roll them out smoothly, with a point on one end. Then let them sit on the non stick surface, rotating them every 10 minutes so they don’t get flat on one side, for the next hour or so. Then let them sit overnight to harden.

Then use the hobby knife to pierce holes on both sides of the leather oval. Pierce the blade through the leather in a hexagon shape to make a circle about the size of the sticks.

The sticks should be a little snug to hold it firmly in the hair. Push a stick through the leather barrette and back through the other side.

Cute! I wonder if my daughter would be interested in making these. You could get so creative with this! You could burn patterns in the leather and make all sorts of colors! Thanks Natalie!
