Smilings My Favorite Elf-Inspired Shirt plus $100 Michaels Gift Card Giveaway!

"I just like to smile. Smiling's my favorite." This quote from Elf is one of my favorite parts of the show. I love it because I have one son that just likes to smile. His bright white smile lights up everyone who sees it. He has had amazing things happen to him because of his smile...maybe someday I'll share his stories. Anyway, he needed this fun holiday shirt to go with his favorite fleece pants. Plus, enter the $100 gift card giveaway at the end of this post!

Supplies Needed:

Shirt

White Iron on Vinyl
Cricut Maker
Cricut Weeding Tools
EasyPress 2 (large)

EasyPress Mat

I wrote out the phrase on my ipad pro and designed it to fit in the shape of a Santa hat. Then imported it into Cricut Design Space and found the perfect hat in the images library. Just overlapped the 2 images exactly where I wanted it and clicked "slice". Then delete the file with just the hat and the file with just the words...leaving the sliced image remaining.

Then cut the file with the Cricut Maker out of Iron-on vinyl. After cutting, use the hook tool to weed the excess vinyl out of the image.

Then heat up the EasyPress 2 and get a shirt ready to press.

Place the shirt on the EasyPress mat and press the shirt to warm it up. Then place the iron-on vinyl on the shirt and line it up when you want it. I always place the vinyl about 2 inches from the collar seam.

Then press the iron-on vinyl on the shirt for the recommended time.

After pressing the vinyl, let the shirt cool down completely and then peel off the carrier sheet.

Makes a great handmade gift for the smiling elf in your life! Do you do the matching or new pajama tradition in your family? We don't, but there is definitely an appeal to fresh, new pajamas to lounge around in on Christmas morning for sure!
