Buttermilk Syrup with French Toast Recipe + SWISS DIAMOND GIVEAWAY!

Now that the weather is cooler, I love baking and cooking in the kitchen.  Delicious warm food is perfect for a chilly Autumn morning...plus the aroma is heavenly!  French Toast is my husband's favorite breakfast food...it's easy to make and delightful!  But the best part is this amazing Buttermilk Syrup!  Stick around for the Swiss Diamond giveaway at the end of the post.
Swiss Diamond sent me this double burner griddle.  It's made to fit right on top of my cook top stove, over 2 elements.  I love it--it heats evenly and cooks wonderfully!
It's large enough for 8 slices of bread at once...perfect for pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese, crepes and more!
Let's get started on breakfast!
You will need:

Buttermilk Syrup

1/2 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
2/3 Cup Buttermilk
1 Tablespoon Corn Syrup
~
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

*

French Toast

16 Slices of bread
6 Eggs
1/2 Cup Milk
1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Begin by making the syrup.  In a saucepan, melt the 1/2 cup butter.
Then add 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2/3 cup of Buttermilk and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup.  Mix and stir.  Bring to a rapid boil on medium/high heat.
Bring to boil for 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2 teaspoons of vanilla.  The baking soda will make the syrup fizz and bubble!
Nearly to overflowing!  Stir gently to mix it in.
Set the syrup aside to cool.  Now make the French Toast.  Place the Swiss Diamond Grilling pan on the stove top and set the elements to medium heat.
In a baking dish, combine the 6 eggs, 1/2 Cup of Milk and cinnamon.
Stir until all combined.
Dip the bread slices in the egg mixture on both sides, then place on the griddle.  No oil needed.
Let them toast up and flip them over.  Easy!
Pour the syrup into a jar and you are ready to serve up breakfast!
The syrup tastes like rich caramel.  It's amazing and pairs perfectly with tart fruit like raspberries or blueberries.  The most scrumptious brunch or Christmas morning breakfast around!  Trust me, it'll be a home run!
