Update Old Bed with Chalk Paint
One of the best ways to freshen up a room is to paint the furniture!  This is such a great way to give old things new life.  The best part about using chalk paint, is you don't need to do any prep work to the furniture first.
 You will need:
An old bed
Chalk Paint in Serenity Blue

This color is so dreamy.  It is part sky blue, part aqua, all airy and light.  This paint color change instantly took the darkness out of the room.
Oops, no before picture.  But imagine an oak bed with a super shiny varnish.  That was the before.
The bed was painted right in the room with paper spread on the floor.  This was easier than taking it apart to carry it out.
Let the first coat dry completely, about 4 hours.  Then repeat the painting.
Let dry and then move back into place and make the bed.
Brightening other accents is a great way to tie it in the room too.  Like this simple shelf.
Just paint a couple coats and let dry.  Instant bedroom face lift!
Add some shiny pillows and let the sunshine pour in through the windows.  The perfect update to an outdated room...and the best kind of spring cleaning!  Do you have some furniture in your home that could use an update?
