DIY: Shabby Chic Furniture Cabinet!

I love updating and refinishing furniture!

This cabinet was given to me by my brother and sister in law.

I think it was left in their home when they bought it and had no need for it.

I knew I could transform it into something lovely!

It just needed some chalk paint and a handmade resin and gold leaf knob.

Check out this before and after!
I received this chipped, grimy cabinet hutch for free.
It looked like it belonged in the trash or on the curb for sure!
I used this Chalk paint in Sheepskin to paint it.
It's from Plaid Crafts, they send me the supplies I love in exchange for using them!
Chalk paint is awesome...here's a post about it and milk paint
I just wiped the cabinet down with a damp cloth and then started painting.
No sanding necessary!
It goes on thick and creamy.
I only painted the outside edges.
With the first coat there are still visible paint brush lines.
You can stop there and then sand and distress the edges.
But I let it dry and painted one more coat.
2 coats helps give it a smooth and wonderful finish.
Finish it off with some wax or just leave it.
Distress it if you like.
I upgraded the knob with a gorgeous emerald and gold leaf knob that I made myself...
full tutorial will be on my blog tomorrow!
 I love it!
It no longer looks like it belongs in the dump!
Add some fun pieces for the perfect entry table!
