Upcycle a Gallon Size Pickle Jar into a fancy Apothecary jar!
I love pickles...my family (of 5) can go through a gallon size jar of pickles in a week.
Seriously.  Bread and Butter pickles...yum!
But then you have yourself a giant glass jar that is just too amazing to toss!

An apothecary jar is just a wide-mouthed covered and ornamented jar...so there you go!
I use googone to clean off all the labels, and it will even remove the "best by" date label.
Then I used this knob I had on hand and used E6000 to glue it right on top of the lid.
 So far, not impressive!
I pray painted the lid with a gray primer.
 Then a gun metal finish!
I love the specks of shimmer!
 Now it's ready to fill!
(note: still smells of pickles and vinegar...so I wouldn't use it for food...toiletries,
craft supplies...washi tape, maybe...buttons, spools of thread, ribbon...medicines...)
Great way to spice up some old jars sitting around!
