Mother's Day Heart Pop-Up Card DIY with Cricut Maker
Hi friends, I'm so excited about this amazing pop-up card DIY. Have a Happy Mother's Day--and celebrate with this cute and simple card DIY.I designed this heart pop-up Mom card in Cricut Design Space™ so that you can make one for your mom in less than 15 minutes--it's perfection!
Here's the Cricut Design Space Project!
Let me show you how to put this darling pop-up card together:
Cricut Scoring Wheel
Cricut Brand Natalie Malan's Divine Peonies Deluxe Paper
Gray Cardstock
This Cricut Design Space Project
Double sided adhesive
I love this watercolor flower paper, it's so pretty. I picked a light gray cardstock to go with it...although any paper can be substituted for it.
You will use the scoring wheel first. Install the scoring wheel into the holder and place the paper on the mat. Follow the CDS directions, they vary in order between devices.
Once the scoring is done, insert the fine point blade without kicking the mat out of the machine. Then press the go button.
You will cut out the card with the center score line and a heart to match.
Then place the plain cardstock on the mat and insert the scoring wheel again.
It will score the center line and the lines for the heart.
Then install the fine point blade and let the machine cut out the rest.
Now just a quick assembly.
Begin by folding the cards in half on the score line.
Then fold the heart back on the score lines.
Open the card and pop the heart through so it stands out.
Then open the card and place it face down on the table.
Next, use the double sided adhesive and add some tape to the backside of the card...everywhere except the HEART shape.
Fold the watercolor card in half.
Then place the taped card inside the watercolored card. Line the fold lines up carefully and press securely.
The reversible watercolor paper is perfect to peek through in the M's and the back of the heart. It looks fabulous!
Perfect size, fits in a standard card or A2 envelope. Write a message and fill it with love.
The perfect quick card for mother's day!
The first time I made a pop up card I was about 6 or 7. I was with my mom and she taught me how. I loved that heart peeking out of the card when opened.
My mom would love this card and I make it in her memory...she's been gone now for 22 years.
It would be the perfect card to go with some flowers or chocolates too!
Do you have a Cricut machine yet? They are amazing! I got my first machine, the Cricut Explore Air 2, nearly 2 years ago. I love it and so will you.
