Brown Sugar Caramel Chocolate Squares Recipe
These sweet chocolates are perfection in a bite! They are a caramelized brown sugar that has a nearly butterscotch flavor. They are the perfect combination of caramel and chocolate and will not last long! They are perfect for a party, a holiday gift or just because. Dipping chocolates reminds me of my childhood and has all that old-time nostalgia, so I'm adding this recipe to my vintage Downton Abbey inspired week...perfect for making and eating while binge watching seasons of DA.
If you've been to See's Candy, these are a very similar copycat recipe to the Butterscotch squares.
They are smooth and creamy on the inside.Ingredients:
2/3 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream2 Cups Brown Sugar
1 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
6 Tablespoons Butter
Milk Chocolate for dipping
Place foil in an 9x9 baking pan.
Boil brown sugar, heavy whipping cream and butter in saucepan until temperature reaches soft ball (234-240*F).
Then add the powdered sugar, salt and vanilla. Whisk until smooth. Then pour in the foil lined dish. Set aside and let cool completely. Then pull out the foil and cut the caramel into squares with a long knife.
Set the squares back in the dish and let them chill in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Then dip the squares in melted chocolate and set on parchment to cool.
I'm not a fancy chocolate dipping person. Just make a mess and have fun.
Let them set completely...and they taste better if you can wait at least one day to eat them! I promise!
They are so delicious!
