Metallic Heart Valentine Garland DIY: Cricut Explore Air™ 2.
Do you remember the show "What Not to Wear"?  Did you watch it?  I loved that show and watched nearly every episode.  I really should have been ON that show, but alas, I just watched wearing pajamas.   Stacy London said something that always stayed with me.  She said that metallics are neutrals and can be mixed and matched in any outfit...which can also be applied to home decor.  I love a mixed metallic look.  So that's my inspiration for the fun Heart Valentine Garland.

I'm excited to be part of Craft & Create Cricut Challenge for Valentine's day!

Le'ts get started on this metallic heart garland!
You will need:
Cricut Explore Air 2 (or equivalent)
Metallic Cardstock
Yarn
Hot glue/gun
I needed a shimmery garland for Valentine's day.  I found the best metallic paper from DCWV, embossed metallic foils.  It comes with Rose Gold, Gold, Copper and Silver.
This was so fun and simple--and can be made in minutes!
Open up Cricut Design Space and click the "shapes" button on the left side taskbar.
Add a heart.  Then scale it the size you want.  Select the heart and duplicate...duplicate over and over.  I flipped 2 of them upside down to fill the space better.  I fit 7 hearts in a 12x12 mat size.
Then proceed to cut out the hearts.  I cut one sheet of hearts for each of my 4 colors of metallics.
They cut beautifully on the posterboard setting and look shiny and gorgeous.
Now get that hot glue gun heating up and get the yarn ready.
On the backside of the heart pipe a line of hot glue.  Then place the yarn right on top of the glue.
Outline the heart with hot glue.
And place another heart right on top.
Repeat the process every 2 inches on the yarn until you run out of hearts.  I only had 7 of each color, so I paired them up.  Silver with Rose Gold and Copper with Gold. So they are all different on either side, but they are in the proper order either way the garland hangs.
Tie a loop on each end of the garland and it is ready to hang up for the holiday--or for daily home decor, it's so pretty!
The combo of metallics is so much fun and matches everything!
Pair it with a pom pom and tassel garlands for the ultimate in garland decor!  Simple Valentine garland that can be made in minutes with minimal effort!
Check out how I used this heart garland with this fun Valentine day decor!
I love these shiny hearts--great for general decor too!
