Spend a snowy day making FROZEN Cupcakes!
You know, those days where you can't justify making 24 cupcakes
because you know you'll eat them all!
Okay, so just 4.
1 Egg
4 TBSP butter softened
4 TBSP sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
3 TBSP milk
1/2 cup Flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 pinches of salt
Should use all your batter!
Now, while they are baking and cooling...
make your frozen icicle shard candy!
(be careful, those icicles have been know to kill people)
Okay, in a saucepan...
add
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tablespoons of corn syrup
2 tablespoons of water
boil on high until it reaches 300* F or hard crack.
and 1/8 teaspoon of flavoring (optional)
I poured a large amount first, then little strings and strands
of syrup to make the lacy frozen icicles.
Really though, be careful...hard candy can cut like glass.
out of damask acetate paper.
and topped with hard candy icicles and shards!
My 5 year old was fine, but fyi.
Enjoy the snowy frozen weather!

They look really beautiful, and I think I'll make some for my family, especially for my little dauhter!
ReplyDeleteAaaand if you modify them a bit, you have really good Breaking Bad themed cupcakes ;-) (Which was my first thought when I saw the blue candy ;-) )
Nice to be here. Great creativity & idea. d",b
ReplyDeleteWOW idea! Perfect FROZEN movie night treat. Mahalo for sharing the tute on making icicles and shards - something we only see in old freezers here in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteHi Natalie, I can not find the damask acetate paper. Can you please give me some ideas where can I get it. Thank you
ReplyDeleteHi! I followed your recipe but mine was burnt as soon as it reaches 300F. I'm not sure what I did wrong. When it reaches 250F it all started to caramelized. Is it possible that the amount of recipe is too little? Should I turn off the heat before it starts to caramelize? Help please. Thanks!
ReplyDelete😍Absolutely Love This Idea ! 💙 the color too. These look yummy & great!😃
