Dragon Medallion Hoodie DIY!
My son loves a soft hoodie.
Even this time of year, there is plenty of reason to wear hooded sweatshirts in the mornings!
Gildan sent us a variety of hoodies and we love them!
They have a big selection of cotton fun for men, women and children.
We got a Carolina Blue hoodie...and our original idea just wasn't going to work on this
adorable baby blue.  So we went with a cool dragon medallion Celtic knot.
First I print of my desired design...this came from a button.
Then staple it on top of a piece of freezer paper.
Use a hobby knife to cut away all the "black" lines.
Leaving a medallion and the outside paper...
Iron the outside circle shiny side down on the shirt.
Then fit the inside piece and iron it on.
Freezer paper is amazing for diy stencils!
You can get it in any grocery store near the wax paper, cling wrap and foil!
 Next, we used fabric paint.
You can use acrylic...but it will dry a little stiff...this stuff will dry soft.
Just sponge the paint in all the gaps!
remove while the paint is still tacky...
 Perfection!
Let it dry and it's done!
I love the simplicity...the softness and the coolness.
My son is thrilled too!
He's more thrilled about the plushy softness of his new hoodie...but the dragon is pretty cool!

Check out this little Ironman hoodie we did for the youngest!

And pick up some great fleece or tees at Gildan!
