DIY Angry Bird Plushies!

So, for Christmas, my kids each get "date time" with me.
My 10 year old son wanted to make Angry Bird plushies for everyone.
We gathered our inspiration, fleece, felt, sewing machine and hot glue/gun...and set to work.

I drew a sketchy pattern on the fleece and cut it out.

Cut a tail out of felt and sandwiched it between the 2 layers of fleece...

Pinned the tail in place...

Sewed around the bird, leaving a good sized hole open on the bottom

like so...

Had the son turn them right side out...

And stuff full of polyfil...

Just hot glued the open seam...not super pretty, but very fast!

Traced a face and cut it out of felt...
Hot glued it together

Used pins to mark where the face should go...then applied
hot glue and stuck it on between the guide pins!

And repeated it 3 more times!  All in different Angry Bird styles...
including the pink girl bird which we did in rainbow fleece!

And by now it started getting dark...so the picture quality diminished slightly!

Gathered all the friends for a fun photo shoot!
It was a really impressive gift for my son to give his syblings and me.
What a sweetie!  Like last year when he made these Super Mario Brothers Lumas!
Now all we need to do is make a bunch of Bad Piggies!

Linking up to THESE parties this week!
