Fallout 76 Recipe: Mutant Hound Stew

You know when you see a green mutant hound, you just want to eat it.

Turn that mutant hound into some tasty--slightly green--hearty stew.

Most of the time mutant hounds are just cooked up into Mutant Chops...but saving your mutant hound meat in the cryo-freezer and then making this stew is just what the Wasteland ordered.

This hearty stew is actually a curry paired with jasmine rice.

It's yummy and extremely filling.

This recipe made enough for a family of 6, more if you have small children.

So grab a can of stew and get ready for the Fallout series--perfect Fallout wastelander cuisine.

Tasty Mutant Hound Stew Fallout 76 Recipe Ingredients:

• 4 Boiled water 
• 12 Mutant hound meat 
• 4 Pepper 
• 6 Starlight berries 
• 6 Wood 

Mutant Hounds, grotesque creatures born of radiation in the Fallout universe, are aggressive descendants of domestic dogs with mutated flesh, bared teeth, and glowing eyes. 

Found in irradiated wastelands and areas inhabited by the hostile faction--Super Mutants.

Mutant hounds hunt in packs, using enhanced strength and agility to attack anything in their path. 

With sharp teeth and claws, they pose a significant threat to travelers, emitting radiation or toxic saliva to augment their attacks. 

As common enemies encountered in quests and random encounters, mutant hounds add an element of danger and suspense to players navigating the post-apocalyptic wasteland of Fallout.

Mutant Hound Stew Fallout Recipe Ingredients:

• 1 Package Golden Curry
• 2 Cans Whole White Potatoes
• 1-2 Large Carrots Sliced
• 2 Chicken Breasts Diced
• 1 Onion Chopped

Step 1: Sautee Veggies

Begin by chopping up the onion and carrots and throw them in a skillet with a little olive oil.

Let that begin to cook and simmer while you cut up the chicken breast.

Step 2: Add Chicken

Next add the chicken breast to the skillet.

Cook the chicken to near completion before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Canned Potatoes

Next drain the canned potatoes and add them in.

You can use fresh potatoes, but I had these cans and thought I'd give them a try.

They are already cooked, so they don't need to go in first, just add them in to warm them up but not enough to turn them into mush.

Step 4: Golden Curry

The Golden Curry is what gives the stew it's slight green tint--perfect for the super mutant hound vibe.

It's kind of a soft block of curry and seasonings, ready to add to the skillet with 2 1/2 cups of water. 

Add the water and blocks of curry to the skillet and let it heat up and come to a bubble.

The curry will combine with the water and thicken to make a delightful stew base.

This golden curry is great by itself, but I like to pair it with some jasmine rice as well.

I just cook my rice in a sauce pan on the stove.

• 4 Cups Water 
• add: 2 Cups Jasmine Rice
• Bring to boil.

Then turn the heat to simmer and cover with a lid for 20 minutes.

Works perfectly every time!

Scoop out a 1/2 to 1 Cup of rice into a bowl, then add a scoop of the Mutant Hound Stew.

It's warm and yummy for a relaxing evening.

The curry is very mild, great for beginners that don't want to burn their whole digestive tract.

The light green hue is perfect for calling it mutant hound stew.

When my kids were little, I would advertise their food to them...so we got really good at making food and naming it something that would entice them to eat it.

They weren't picky eaters, but it did make eating time much more fun for them.

Fast forward 10-15 years and guess what!???

My kids STILL love me naming their food fun names!
