Animal Silhouettes with Scripted Power Words!
I love power words and shirt making. I am in love with my Cricut Maker and use it nearly daily. Shirts are my favorite craft project. They are fast to make and totally useful---plus, my dollar store sells lots of tee's, and I am good with that price. However, I have major issues with a lot of kids shirts these days. So many of them are sassy, snarky and mean. I am a fan of building up and lifting, so shirts with powerful animals and strong words are more my style. Reciting positive things to oneself can have a wonderful impact. Help children know that they are Strong, Brave, Free, Wild and more.
I love this giggle buffalo shirt! Follow a toddler around for a day...listen to how much they giggle! It's incredible! Imagine what the world would be like if everyone giggled regularly in the day.
Bliss is another one of my favorite words. Imagery includes beaches and oceans...a whale is the perfect carrier of Bliss!
Alright, let's get started! These 9 shirts took me just about an hour from start to finish to make!
You will need:
Cricut Cutting Machine (I love
the Maker)
Black Glitter Vinyl
Cricut Design Space™
Animal CDS Project
Cricut EasyPress
Place the iron on vinyl plastic covering on the mat. Reverse the image and cut the iron on vinyl with the "iron-on and more depth" settings. Then use the weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl. I worked hard to get all the animals in a tight space to minimize waste, so go slow and use caution when cutting and weeding.
Once they are all weeded, they are ready to iron on!
The EasyPress is so awesome, it takes the guess work out of shirt making! For glitter iron on, set the temperature to 340*. Warm up the shirt, then place the vinyl on the shirt. Place the EasyPress right on top of the plastic and set the timer for 20 seconds. Turn the shirt over and heat the backside for about 10 seconds.
Next, let the shirt cool down completely. Then peel off the plastic by sliding it back over itself.
Boom! These shirts are ready to wear! Some are silly!
Others are Brave! Perfect shirts for boys or girls. Everyone can be strong and powerful.
Free, like a wild horse!
