  Homemade Non-Alcoholic Vanilla Extract!
Perfect for divine vanilla frosting and every other recipe that needs vanilla!
Great for gifts too!
You will need:

Vegetable Glycerin

Vanilla Beans

Pint Jars
cutting block, knife and time.
I used 4 beans per jar.
Cut longwise in half.
So you can see all those little bean dots inside there!
Stick them in your pint jars.
Pour the vegetable glycerin and fill the jar.
It's very clear...but thick.
Press the beans down inside,
cap the jars.
I labeled mine so I knew when they were started.
January 31st.
Now the time part...
Store in a cool, dry and dark place.  Shake them up at least once a week.
After about 6 months they looked brown like extract.
Just a teaspoon has a ton of those little bean specks!
Added to some buttercream frosting is the best!
You can remove the bean pods...
scrape out any remaining insides and put them back in your vanilla extract.
Then you can pour into smaller bottles (dark colored ones are best)
and give as gifts or use to enhance your cooking!
I will not go back to imitation vanilla again!
