Hibiscus Swim Shirt with SportFlex Iron-on Vinyl with Cricut
Hey Doodlecrafters, I love Hibiscus! If you've been around here long, then you'd know how much I love this gorgeous tropical flower. I decided to spruce up an old athletic shirt so I can wear it as a swim cover up. This hibiscus swim shirt is easy to make in less than 15 minutes! SportFlex iron-on from Cricut is my favorite type of iron on! It's got stretch, so it's perfect for anything with some stretch. It is simple to cut and weed. SportFlex comes in a bunch of different colors now, so it's time to add vinyl to all the things. Do you have a Cricut Maker? It's my favorite crafting tool! Cricut Weeding Tools
Sport Shirt
Right click to save off this hibiscus pattern png. Personal use only. Upload it into Cricut Design Space and remove the background. Save as a cut file.
Place the SportFlex iron-on on the mat with the colored side facing down. Insert into the Maker and set the cut for SportFlex. Then mirror the image and cut.
Remove the vinyl, cut around the image and weed the excess vinyl away. It's so smooth and easy to weed SportFlex. It's my most favorite iron-on on the planet.
Warm up the EasyPress 2 according to the recommeded settings. Warm up the shirt and then place the iron-on on the shirt.
Press the iron-on with the EasyPress 2 for the recommended time.
Let the shirt cool down completely and then remove the carrier sheet by sliding the plastic back over itself.
That's it!
This project took me 15 minutes...but posting it took hours! I kept getting interrupted with kids, meals, errands and general tasks. But I wore the shirt all day, just for fun! I love it!
SportFlex Iron-On is my favorite! This shirt was the perfect candidate because it had a little snag right on the front. Easy to cover up and look amazing with some SportFlex Iron-On. Yay!
