Get House Ready to Sell with Red Front Door Update Are you getting your home ready to sell? Maybe you are just looking to update the look of your home. Every house needs a RED door! Paint your door red for a pop of color that will add curb appeal and refresh the look. Painting an exterior door may be a little intimidating, but it's actually quite simple. This cute house was getting fixed up to sell, but needed a little pop. The front door was spray painted gray...and the paint was chipping off.  Preparation for this door was important to remove the lacquer finish so the new paint would adhere properly. I began by using a grinder and sanding down the door. I left it hanging in place, but you could do a more thorough job by taking it down. After sanding, apply a good primer to the door. Primer just gets it ready for painting, but looks awful. Just remember it is not meant to look even or smooth at all. It will just look discouraging. Don't give up. ...

Peacock Front Door!

 Peacock Front Door! Okay, this is our side door.  But it gets used more than our cool front door. And it was ugly. ~ When we bought this house in January, the inside of the house was painted a purple-ish gray color. They used it on this door too.  Not a fan. Not only is it super boring...but it was scratched badly from the previous owners dogs. The trim is a peachy salmon color and I do not love it...but until we get brave enough to paint  all the wood surfaces of the house, I'll leave it the way it is. In any case the Peacock is the perfect complimentary color!  I painted it Peacock Blue! I love all shades of blue, especially teal! My husband is not a huge fan of this color.
