Felt Quiet Book with Snaps!

 Felt Quiet Book with Snaps! Quiet books and sensory games are so fun for kids and great teaching aids!  You will need: Hot glue/gun scissors Felt (various colors) Sewing machine (optional) Snaps and snap setter Cut out felt shapes to make whatever scene you want. I did a landscape with grass, tree and sun. Hot glue the bulk of the shapes onto the background. Once it's glued...it's snap time. You can set as many snaps as you want. I did 5 flowers. (You could change up the scene for various seasons or holidays!) Stab the awl through the fabric where you want the snap set... Pierce the pointy snap part through the awl hole... then set the snap receiver on top. Put them carefully into your snap pliers...and squeeze! Easy as pie! The back is perfect and the top is ready to snap! Cute! Repeat the process until satisfied! Now we need some flowers. I cut five flowers from felt. And used the same technique to set the other sid...

Growth Chart Ruler!

 Growth Chart Ruler! Keep track of how fast those kiddos are growing with a growth ruler!  I started with a used used used piece of fence slat... but you can buy cheap fence slats at a home improvement store for less than $2.  The bottom edge was so munched...I had to cut a few inches off...  Next I went with my favorite shade of steel blue!  And painted the top. It needed a lot of paint because the wood was so old and splintery.  Oh yeah...check out your base board moldings...you'll probably want to start your numbers up a little bit.  I started at 5 inches up.  So it could rest on the base boards that are 5".  Line up a measuring tape or yard stick and use a sharpie marker to make the lines every inch. At the 6 inch mark, make a longer line,  and at the foot mark, make the biggest line.  Then use a contrasting color of paint to paint the numbers!  Now because I had to cut my board down...I...
