I just froze the show and studied it.  I love those giant ornate frames, the marble fireplace, the clock, the valance over the door, the high ceilings and molding.  So awesome. DIY: Shabby Chic Furniture Cabinet!

DIY: Shabby Chic Furniture Cabinet! I love updating and refinishing furniture! This cabinet was given to me by my brother and sister in law.  I think it was left in their home when they bought it and had no need for it. I knew I could transform it into something lovely! It just needed some chalk paint and a handmade resin and gold leaf knob.  Check out this before and after! I received this chipped, grimy cabinet hutch for free. It looked like it belonged in the trash or on the curb for sure!  I used this Chalk paint in Sheepskin to paint it. It's from Plaid Crafts , they send me the supplies I love in exchange for using them! Chalk paint is awesome...here's a post about it and milk paint  I just wiped the cabinet down with a damp cloth and then started painting. No sanding necessary! It goes on thick and creamy.  I only painted the outside edges.  With the first coat there are still visible paint brush lines. You can stop there and then sand and distr
