Chalkboard Sugar Cookies!

Chalkboard Sugar Cookies! These are so cute and a really fun gift for teacher appreciation! They are easy to make! Sugar Cookies! These ones don't spread when they bake...they are crisp and a little flavorless...but great with frosting! 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling   1/2 teaspoon baking powder   1/4 teaspoon salt   1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature   1 cup granulated sugar   1 large egg   1 teaspoon vanilla extract Mix, separate into 2 balls...press into disks...and place in a ziploc bag  and set in the fridge for 2 hours...or the freezer for about 20 minutes. Then remove, roll out on floured surface and bake 325 for about 12 minutes.  Let them cool completely. Mix up some royal icing. This stuff is made with egg whites and not water...so it forms a crisp sweet glaze ...

Easy Finger Puppet Gloves!

Easy Finger Puppet Gloves! We made family finger puppets!  Firstly, we love to make handmade gifts for Christmas. This past year we drew names and made one thing for the person we got. My little 7 year old was unsatisfied that all he had to do was make me something... and he wanted to make his older brother and sister something too. He had a great idea. Glove puppets of the family! I told him to sit down and draw a picture of what he wanted everyone to look like.  It was pretty cute!  We took a pair of knit gloves. The pair worked great because the brother is left handed and the sister is right handed!  We used felt and cut circles for faces...I only had ivory felt for our skin tone... but it's pretty true to color during the winter!  Then we added colorful hair and wiggly eyes. I hot glued everything in place...  Then my son picked where he wanted each person to be... and we hot glued them on each finger.  T...

Harry Potter Wand Pen!

Harry Potter Wand Pen! Do you love Harry Potter? What's your favorite spell? I think Expelliarmus is used the most...and while it's pretty useful... (My misspelling just got pointed out...I'm such a Muggle!)  I know I would be using Scourgify way more often! It's the cleaning spell.  Man that would make cleaning the kitchen and bathroom a breeze! Unfortunately all these wands can do is help you write a letter to a friend or finish up some homework! You will need: Paper Mate cheap pens. (These are the only pens I can guarantee work)  And you will need polymer clay. I have used both Fimo and Sculpey and they work great. I used a variety of colors...because wood wands with Phoenix feather coils and  wormwood shafts are a variety of colors. ;)  Soften the clay in your hands and mix it together. Swirl it in a snake and then twist it in a coil. You don't want to over mix, you need those colors to stay separated still.  Looks...
