Pillar Table!

My daughter told me she wanted a pillar. Really? Well I found this Pillar table at the DI for $5. The faux marbled top was so hideous, I instantly removed it...thinking I would  make a top out of wood. (haven't yet) I painted and glazed the pillar.  Then just needing to get it out of my garage... and after selling my daughters nightstand for some sweet cash,  I sprayed the marbled top yellow.  (didn't glaze or seal it) I realize it's not great. But greatness will wait until summertime...  At least the base is awesome.

Another Acid Mirror!

Here's another acid mirror I did! I love the shape and look of this frame... although I am not sold on the color!

Full length mirror!

Found this long mirror at the  DI (Utah goodwill) for 8 bucks! Painted and glazed! It's my sister's...but I hung it up to enjoy until she wants to take it home! Lucky me!

Chunky odd frame!

I love this huge chunky frame! Because of its odd shape,  I am not sure what to do with it yet! It's all plaster... It's been chipped and broken, But I primed it, painted it pink! and glazed it! ideas?

Silhouettes with the Silhouette!

I have wanted to make silhouette profiles of my kids for a while! well, it got cold... which kept my crafting indoors... I started by taking a profile photo against a white wall. I could have taken more time to get it just so... but I figured I would fix it up enough in  photoshop...so alas, it is what it is. I used photoshop to eliminate the background. Select the inverse and then cut so it remained in black. After some tweaking of lines, I saved my files as jpegs  and brought them into the silhouette software. Once in Silhouette studio, I just had to select the trace area and then trace outer edge. Silhouette's tutorial is good...the photo editing work all done in ss...not photoshop. Super simple! then I cut a draft on regular paper... got the sizes to fit the frames {which I got for 20 cents each...} Found some paper I liked... Presto!  Oooh!  I love those little profiles!

Fancy Room knick knacks!

Lots of fun little things to throw  into the Fancy room! This mirror I got super cheap (33 cents) because it didn't have a base... lucky for me, I had a perfect fit! (hoarding...pays off) Needed to be painted though!  I painted it silver and glazed it with black!  Love it! Got this frame for 33 cents... plastic...perfect!  Painted and glazed it!  Semi-gloss white... A little command velcro on the wall and frame... Because it is lightweight plastic, it stays up perfectly!   This mirror was a pale pasty pink... snazz it a bit to match...  glaze it!  Great for the Mirror Mirror on the wall! (side note about the mirror... if ever my daughter says something unkind  or belittling about herself  {which happens, because lets face it...we do that as girls} ...I make her stand in front of the mirror and say at least  10 nice things about herself!   It has worked wonders) My kids call dress forms "bobbers"...  This bobber wa...

Fancy Room Gallery wall

For the gallery wall, I picked, painted and arranged a bunch of frames... We laid them on the floor how we wanted to hang them. She then decided that baby-doll was better in her bed still. Here's what we ended up with.  I used that command center velcro stuff... {some people swear by this...not me} so I didn't have to put so many holes in the wall. The next morning...those 2 white frames had fallen and one broke. I then secured all the frames with nails and hooks.  So, it ended up like this:

Fancy Room Acid Mirror and curtains

I had been hoarding this blue butterfly fabric for years! It was about time it got put to use (although there is still enough of it left for pajamas and a quilt!) I used it to replace that black towel in the window. I took 1 1/4 yards of black out curtain material... I was blessed to find exactly what I needed  in the remnants bin at Hobby Lobby.  I gathered the butterfly material and sewed it right  on top of the blackout stuff. no up close pics, it's not perfect! A soft pillow to match in the corner... And I backed a cool etched mirror to match... This frame was $2.50 at the thrift store... primed, painted and glazed it... I cut a cheap mirror to fit. Love that this fabric was finally put to some use!
