Apothecary Jar Upcycle! #tbt

Upcycle a Gallon Size Pickle Jar into a fancy Apothecary jar! I love pickles...my family (of 5) can go through a gallon size jar of pickles in a week. Seriously.  Bread and Butter pickles...yum! But then you have yourself a giant glass jar that is just too amazing to toss! An apothecary jar is just a wide-mouthed covered and ornamented jar...so there you go!  I use googone to clean off all the labels, and it will even remove the "best by" date label.  Then I used this knob I had on hand and used E6000 to glue it right on top of the lid.  So far, not impressive!  I pray painted the lid with a gray primer.  Then a gun metal finish! I love the specks of shimmer!  Now it's ready to fill! (note: still smells of pickles and vinegar...so I wouldn't use it for food...toiletries, craft supplies...washi tape, maybe...buttons, spools of thread, ribbon...medicines...) Great way to spice up some old jars sitting around! ...

Pretty Jars and Cheesecake!

Cheesecake in a jar! I love these wide mouth half pints! So cute. I did a Pretzel Crust: 1/4 cup butter 1 cup crushed pretzels 1 tbsp brown sugar Press into 5 half pint jars. Bake in oven for 20 minutes at 350* Cool, then add cheesecake filling! Filling: 1 pkg cream cheese 1/3 cup sugar 1 tsp lemon juice 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt 2 cups whipped topping Mix well and scoop on top of crust! Top with strawberries and more whipped topping! So pretty!  Always the season for cheesecake! Linking up to THESE parties this week!
