I love birthdays! I feel like I am getting better with age. I love it!
Yesterday I told a fun past birthday story--go read it if you missed it...and today I have another one!
Birthday Story time:
When I turned 17, I was afraid that people would forget it was my birthday. It was just a week after my mom died and I needed extra love and attention. I went to school that day and told everyone in the halls that it was my birthday.
Hey guess what? It's my birthday today! I greeted everyone I saw and let them know to praise me. This was well before the days of facebook and social media...so word of mouth was the only way to get attention or get the memo out!
I had to attend a (pretty boring) Boy Scout Dinner that night with my dad, again because my mom had just passed away and he needed his "plus 1"...so I spent my birthday with my pa. I had a great time with him and glad I could help him out too, no doubt he was feeling the loss of his loving wife.
When I got home later that night, I found a table full of chocolates, flowers and stuffed animals, etc waiting for me.
Apparently many of the guys I told it was my birthday to at school acted on it while I was gone and delivered gifts! It was a fun surprise!
Oh man, I love my attention! Extrovert much!!!
And I love paint!
