Getting Started!

Begin by clicking on the CDS Project and opening up the card. It's a little different than pictured below because I added the flowers. The best part of this set up, is it shows you all the tools needed on the left side bar and the order they are needed. This was a fun card to design!

Note: This was done on a desktop, I don't know if it translates perfectly to a mobile device. If you try it, please let me know!

Step 1: Pen and Debossing

Place the paper on the cutting mat and follow the screen prompts. It asked me to insert the pen into the holder A and the Debossing tip into holder B. Then click the start button and watch it work. Seriously though, I always watch the entire process, completely mesmerized by the robotic sounds and smooth movement.

Step 2: Perforation

Once done with the drawing and the debossing, it will bring up a "tool change required" prompt. Just do what it says, in this case, load the perforation blade into clamp B. At this point you can remove the pen as well. Do not eject the mat during this process!

I love the perforation tool so much. For some reason I just want to make endless coupons. Did you ever make those coupon books for your parents...with free hugs, help with dinner, babysitting, etc? I did all the time, and you know, my mom actually used them!

Step 3: Wavy Cutting Wheel

After the perforation is done, it will prompt you to change the blade to the wavy cutting wheel. This one is a fun one too! It's just a subtle wave.

Step 4: Cutting Blade

Finally it will ask for the fine cutting blade, just insert it and press the start button again.

Then eject the mat and remove the card pieces. Next, insert the pink contrast paper for the flowers.

Step 5: Paper Card

Cut a 8.5X5.5 piece of the pink paper and fold in half for the card. Then layer the cardstock on the pink card. My cardstock is reversible, so I flipped the largest piece over.

Tape down the biggest piece to the card, then add the debossed card on top. Then use the mounting foam and a cut 2 pieces with a knife or scissors.

Stick the foam to the back top of the perforated card. Then peel off the backing and stick it to the center of the card.

Then stick on the little pink flowers. It's adorable! The wavy cut line double cuts, to give it a varied edge which I thought I wouldn't like, but I actually do. It makes that wave edge stand out.

That's it!

This is an A2 size card (1/4 a piece of 8.5X11 paper) and fits in that size envelope. Great way to let someone know you are thinking of them. I love sending snail mail...don't you love getting a handmade card in the mail?

What Design Space project is this? I clicked on the DS link, and it opened up only to DS and not the project. Thanks!

It appears that a recent Cricut update has made this card project inaccessible. Sorry, it will take some re-working, which I am not able to do right now.
