Painted Mushroom Fairy Garden!

Painted Mushroom Fairy Garden!  Fairy Gardens are so cute and fun!  I thought a little  mushroom house would be the perfect touch for a  fairy garden--or little gnome village!  I started with this old, faded mushroom. It was in the front yard of this house when we bought it.  This is a real Fly Amanita. It's the most iconic mushroom ever.  I guess it is hallucinogenic and psychedelic. It's said that it makes things appear either bigger or larger than they are. Fun thought since Alice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass movie is coming out next week! It's totally the Caterpillars' mushroom! I used Plaid Apple Barrel paints and painted it white and the cap red. Let it dry and then painted white spots on the top.  Then I used Nutmeg brown paint to paint on the front door.  With some details in Melted chocolate and black.  Then I used this fabulous Liquid Leaf in Classic Gold to paint some fun det...

Resin Rose Earrings!

Resin Rose Earrings! I had a bunch of these 20mm resin roses...like these: I used earring studs and E-6000 glue.  I used this styrofoam disc for easy work space. Then just glued the posts onto the backs of the flowers.  Just a little daub is all it needs.  Let dry completely, like overnight.  Then they are ready to add a back to and wear! Great gifts too!  Adorable!  Great gift idea too! This post published on Doodlecraft first

Grass Head Planters!

Grass Head Planters! This posted on Oriental Trading Blog last year! I received supplies from Oriental Trading in exchange for this craft idea. This is a fun craft to do with children! Teach children about gardens!  You will need Ceramic Mini Flower Pots from Oriental Trading.  As well as Super Huge Wiggle Eyes , Colored Hot Glue or Tube Paint  Begin by hot gluing eyes onto the flower pot.  Hold in place until cools.  Use colored hot glue or tube paints to draw mouths, eyelashes, eyebrows, freckles or other features.  Let them cool or dry completely (Hot glue dries faster, but is not good for small children)  Now add potting soil and grass seeds and let them grow. Keep the soil moist and in the sun light.  A window sill works great!  After your grass has grown, They will need to be styled!  Let the child style the grass with scissors.  Avoid using the word "Haircut"...
