Feather Boa Wreath with Bunting!

Feather's Flyin'! Ever had a pillow fight where the feathers fly everywhere? ...that's just in movies right? Okay, so my daughter got a feather boa for her birthday  in April...so cute, but those feathers get everywhere when it is used for dress ups! So Here's a great 8 year old craft! Let your daughter wrap her boa around a small {8 inch or so} wreath form... 1 boa fits perfectly!  I didn't have to glue it...but you can if you want it secure. I tied the two ends in a knot and tucked the tails.  Easy. Then we cut some triangles out of a cereal box... covered with scrapbook paper...punch holes...run some twine through it... And used my cameo to cut her name.  I threw on a pom pom for fun, but it TOTALLY does NOT match! And I just used corsage pins and stuck it into the wreath on each side! Perfect-o!  It's hanging on her room door now.  So cute! Linking up to THESE parties this week!

Pom Pom Garland

Yes, Hello! Me again with Pom Pom mania!  Once you know how to make a pom pom, you wont be able to stop! Plus you can use up skeins of yarn that  you can't justify getting rid of!  Pom Pom Tutorial here! For garland, I used the wires and twisted them into loops.  Then tie them with some twine...just a simple overhand knot.  To fun up the mantle!  As soon as I put up the garland, my kids said "Are we having a party?!!!" They were disappointed when I said no... maybe we'll have a pom pom party! Linking up to THESE parties this week!

DIY Tulle Pom Poms!

Here's a bigger pom pom tutorial! Made of Tulle. Check out this pom pom tutorial first, then you'll get the idea! Start with 2 pieces of cardboard the same size... circular with a hole in the center.  Get some twine or yarn and tie an overhand knot loosely. place it on one piece of cardboard like so. Place the other piece of cardboard over the top of the string.  wrap tulle around the edge and through the center...over and over and over!   When it is full (or you run out of tulle), cut the edges between the cardboard. Don't cut your twine!  Pull that twin tight to tighten that knot. Then tie in a second knot. Slip the tulle pom pom out the center hole and fluff it up! Okay, that was fun, but way too much work for me! Here's a simpler way. just like the pom poms.  Use a rectangle piece of cardboard. wrap around over and over. Slide off the cardboard, tie in the center with twine or yarn. ...
