I like a good April Fools Day prank... but since it is also my daughters birthday, we tend to celebrate it in very nice ways. Usually involving funny food. Undercooked Armadillos Shirt!

 I try not to eat undercooked armadillos. No worries, it doesn't make sense to me either. We had a funny t-shirt design contest and this was one of the top 10. I decided to make it into a shirt for my brother. First you need an adorable and creepy armadillo.  We lived in the south for 3 years and armadillos were always around...mostly as roadkill. They are so freaky looking! ~ If you a beginner to Heat Transfer Vinyl Shirt Making check out this first! Otherwise, you'll just import your design in to the cutting software, I use Silhouette Studio. Then type your text. REVERSE everything! Then have it cut it out. Place face down on your shirt. (now it reads the right way)  Place a tea towel over the vinyl and iron on high for 2 minutes. Then remove the tea towel and iron on the plastic carefully. Then remove the plastic backing, re-iron as necessary.  As for care instructions. I find that over time the vinyl can lift off...especially the mor...

 Funny Elf-Inspired Painted Holiday Totes! I love tote bags!  I like funny movies, like Elf too.  Elf is my favorite Christmas movie.  I watch it on repeat while I craft Christmas gifts.  Once, it repeated 3 times in a row.  My family got so sick of it.  I picked a couple of my favorite movie lines to print on my totes... Cotton Headed Ninny Muggins...and...You're an Elf  They are adorable and fun to make! You will need: Canvas tote bags Colorful Holiday Fabric Freezer paper X-acto knife/Silhouette Cameo Craft paint stencil brush webbing Sewing machine scissors piece of cardboard  I got a bunch of DIY White Canvas tote bags from Oriental Trading Company . They come in a pack of 12 for $20.99. They sent them to me at no cost in exchange for this tutorial!  They are pretty good quality.  They are a bit thin and the straps are very flimsy... They would be great for a child's birthday party...simple tote bag...
