DIY: Shark Etched Wine Glass!

DIY: Shark Etched Wine Glass!
This glass turned out so fun.
Story time:
My mom was a collector of fun glasses. She would buy them at thrift stores or yard sales. They were just one of a kind in our cupboard. The thing is, they were the highly desired glasses to use because they were unique. I am the same. I don't have a lot of matching sets, but lots of individuals.
Each of my kids have their personal favorites...and I'm sure this shark glass just made the highly coveted list!

You will need some glassware, stemware, wine goblets or whatever. We don't drink wine, but it feels fancy to drink a strawberry lemonade out of a goblet.
You will also need:
Glass Etching Cream
Vinyl cut out of shark (or desired shape)

I used my Cricut Explore Air™ 2 machine to cut out a tiny 2.5 inch shark.

Just out of some white vinyl.

Then weed out the inside of the shark. I removed the eye and gills too, so it's just a silhouette.

Then apply the vinyl. Because the goblet is tapered, the vinyl has a little folding, just try to keep the actual silhouette outline as smooth as possible.

Then glop on some of the etching cream. It's super thick and creamy. I did an even-ish layer of cream all over the darling shark.
Then it just sits for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, wipe off the excess cream with a paper towel. Then remove the vinyl and wash it completely in the sink.
Once it dries, the shark will look amazing!
